DESCRIPTION:A Wellbeing Economy is one where everyone thrives. \nOur current economy is inequitable and does not support community priorities \nJoin multiple community based organizations as we come together again to discuss how we turn visions of Wellbeing Economy into reality here in the Pomona Valley. \nLast year\, we met to explore what a Wellbeing Econom could look like here in Pomona.  Several themes emerged: \n\nQuality of Life – Time to be with friends\, family and community without worrying about financial challenges.\nWorking together – The importance of groups coming together in harmony for solidarity\, maximizing resources and building power.\nChanging the Systems – Looking at what builds community wellbeing and what weakens it and making changes.\n\nJoin us at our May 12th event\, we will work in breakout groups to determine what are the key levers that will build a local Wellbeing Economy and consider forming working groups to keep these efforts going long term. \nThis is a great time to join us and help form what comes next. \nWe welcome people of all ages\, skill levels and occupations.  Let’s build community as we learn together. \nLocation – dA Center for the Arts\, 252 S. DESCRIPTION:ProRep Coalition believes that moving our state legislators from single member districts to multi member districts with proportional representation would lead to a healthier democracy that better represents the multitudes of each district. \nProRep Coalition does educational work to build support for a ballot measure in California to move to this system. \nProportional Representation (PR) is used by most advanced democracies and can help solve many of the shortcomings of a system with entrenched two parties. PR represents diversity better\, encourages cross-party coalition building\, and results in policies that work for the many\, not the few. \nCaledon Myers is the Founder and Executive Director of ProRep Coalition\, and will be joining us to share more about the organization’s work\, and to specifically highlight the democracy reform town halls they’ll be piloting later this year that will be used to determine the features of a future ballot initiative. \nSign up HERE

DESCRIPTION:May’s discussion topic is about moving from a fringe discussion into a powerful\, nationwide discussion. \nSo many elements of a Wellbeing Economy are swimming around the news and local discussions\, but the term “Wellbeing Economy” is barely known.
