Wellbeing Policy Platform

Introduction to our Policy Platform

Wellbeing Economy Alliance California is a community of local leaders, academics and activists coming together to envision a society that benefits all people and puts collective wellbeing over current economic recklessness.  We believe that by working together, we can make substantial progress towards our shared vision.

A written Policy Platform clarifies our intentions and guides our individual and collective actions.

We think it is important that our Platform be an ongoing work in progress in order to:

  • Center long term visioning and creativity
  • Leverage short term opportunities (Supporting or Blocking Legislation)
  • Support our community as they bring forth specific and focused initiatives
  • Build collective cooperation towards our common goals
  •    Stay in a Learning Mindset

The platform comprises 4 main areas – Economy, Democracy, Community and Nature.

We advocate that all four are interdependent, so the order does not indicate priority.

The current Platform will allow us to move into action now.  While we discuss and deliberate long term solutions, discuss new legislation, we can get creative about existing and available options, such as

  • Pursuing our Attorney General to enforce Anti-Trust laws
  • Meet with elected leaders to build support for Wellbeing Economies
  • Ensure we elect legislators who understand and support these concepts.

What we accomplish is only limited by our collective imagination and collaboration.

What we do know is that urgency, enthusiasm and declaring our rights to a Wellbeing Future matter.

If you would like to become part of the process, please join one of our Policy Deep Dive Sessions.  We will meet the 4th Tuesday of every month at 10am and 4:30pm Pacific time.    Check our Events Calendar

We welcome those who are outside of California to come and share their creativity and expertise at these times.
